2015 West District 4-H Teen Retreat


Get ready to have some 4-H fun with other teens (13-19 years old) from the West District!  Our West District 4-H Teen Retreat will take place Saturday, March 28 – Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain.  Registration and ice breakers will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning and we’ll be done with the retreat by 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.  The cost for Teen Retreat is $75/person which includes lodging, all linens, 4 meals (Sat. lunch, dinner; Sunday breakfast, lunch), DJ for dance, t-shirt, workshops, and recreation activities…..what a deal!!

Workshops: Robotics, Wilderness Leadership, Teen Talk (issues), Global Cultures, 4-H Presentations, College Prep 101, Running a better meeting, Healthy Living
We won’t have a talent show, but will have a space for a “jam session” for those who’d like to bring instruments and/or sing……
Our service project will be Sole Hope — making shoes from blue jeans for 3rd world countries…..4-H’ers should bring old blue jeans.

Buncombe County registration is due no later than Friday, February 27th to the Buncombe County Extension Center.  Please make sure to include a completed registration form, payment, 4-H media release, and notarized 4-H Medical Release (please double check to make sure these are on file at the Extension office).  The cost of this year’s retreat is $75 per person (same price if full or part time) which covers  lodging, workshops, facilities, meals, and t-shirt.
