A few months back, seeds were given to those 4-H Families who wished to participate in the Mini-Garden project. Since that time, our Master Gardener Suzanne Wodek has been out to visit each mini-garden and has helped answer questions and give growing tips. She’s been very impressed with all the gardens she’s seen this year!
For those families who participated in our 4-H Mini Garden Project, we’d like to announce the Mini-Garden Potluck Dinner to be held on Thursday, August 28th at 6:00pm here at the 4-H Office (94 Coxe Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801). Any 4-H’ers and their families who have been involved in the Mini-Garden Project this year are invited to participate.
We will provide enough Spaghetti for everyone, as well as iced tea and paper goods. Please plan to bring a side dish (or dessert) made with fresh vegetables/fruits from your gardens (or the store) that can be shared with everyone. Please let us know the number of family members from each household that will be attending and the food item you plan to bring by calling or emailing Holly Jordan (828-255-5522/ email@example.com) NO LATER THAN Thursday, August 28th at noon. We apologize for the short written notice on this but hope you had the date written down from our visits.
We would also like for each of you to bring your mini garden project record book if you have worked on completing it. The Master Gardeners will be presenting awards to the families and youth who have excelled in the project.
We look forward to celebrating all of your hard work this season!
