NC Farm Bureau’s 2014 Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL) and R. Flake Shaw Scholarship applications are now available online. Links to both webpages are below:
Institute for Future Agriculture Leaders:
The Institute for Future Ag. Leaders (IFAL) is a week-long program for high school students interested in the agriculture industry. Emphasis is placed on: career opportunities, emerging technology, citizenship and leadership development. Both the IFAL at NC State University and at A&T State University are held the week of June 15-20, 2014. Rising high school seniors in the upper 1/3 of their classes who are interested in agriculture and recommended by their county Farm Bureau. Attendance is limited to 40 participants per conference.
The R. Flake Shaw Scholarship Program now offers:
- a total of twenty-four scholarships valued at $3,750 per year for four years of study at a college or university in an agriculturally-related curricula. Six new scholarships are awarded each spring.
- a total of four scholarships valued at $1,000 per year for two years of study at a community college to receive an associate degree in an agriculturally-related field or to prepare for transfer to a college or university. Two new scholarships are awarded each spring.
