2014 National 4-H Conference Roundtable Facilitator Applications – NOW AVAILABLE

For more information and to download an application, visit http://www.4-h.org/4-h-conference/collegiate-facilitators/.  The application deadline is November 20th, 2013.  Please note there are separate applications for Lead, NEW and Returning facilitators.   NEW Facilitators are not required to have attended National 4-H Conference.  Facilitators age range is from 19-25 and can be in college or have recently graduated.

Seeking highly motivated, hard-working, and dedicated college students with knowledge of 4-H, ability to work with conference delegates from age 15-19, and experience in researching subject matter topics in order to be an integral part of National 4-H Conference as Roundtable Facilitators.

The goal of National 4-H Conference is to bring together high-school age delegates from state 4-H programs across the nation, U.S. territories, and Canada, to engage in personal development experiences and present the youth voice to federal decision makers about current issues effecting all communities and specifically youth.

Facilitators will be provided with the training (through webinars and face to face immediately prior to conference), tools, and resources to develop and implement plans for round table sessions.  They will be asked to research their topic prior to attending.  Facilitators lead independent small groups of delegates to promote healthy discussion for all participants on a variety of selected topics.

Facilitators moderate group dynamics for maximum productivity and guide groups in the development of topics for later presentation to federal agencies.

Facilitators will also be expected to exhibit a high standard of conduct as role models for delegates during the conference.  Ideal candidates will exhibit enthusiasm for working with teens, a willingness to serve others, and outstanding small-group leadership skills – coordinating individuals to achieve goals by utilizing their unique interests and talents.  Selection preference will be given for maturity and relevant experience.

  •  If you are enthusiastic, encouraging, dedicated, and willing to learn new things…
  • if you enjoy serving others and making lifelong friendships…
  • if you appreciate the rewarding feeling of a job well done at the end of a long week…

then this is a perfect opportunity for you!

Note: (Travel and Registration costs for Facilitators will be covered by National 4-H Conference.)
