What: *NC Sheep Producers Meeting*
When: January 19, 2013
Where: Chatham County Agriculture Building, Pittsboro, NC
Who:  Anyone interested in sheep industry.  Producers, youth, or anyone with an interest is welcome to participate.  Click below for more information.

What: *NC Meat Goat Association Wether & Doe Sale*
When: January 19, 2013
Where: Johnston County Livestock Arena, Smithfield, NC
Who:  These goats would be the perfect size for spring county shows.
What: *Judging in January hosted by the NC Junior Hereford Association*
When: January 26, 2013
Where:  NCSU Beef Educational Unit
Who:  Open to all youth that would like to learn about livestock judging.  Both amateurs and experienced youth are welcome to participate.  Entry forms and additional information can be found on our website at http://www.cals.ncsu.edu/an_sci/extension/animal/4hyouth/ah4h.html.

What: Advanced Skillathon Clinics for Seniors
When: February 2, 2013 from 1-5, additional dates and times will be set at this event
Where: NCSU Beef Educational Unit
Who: Senior youth that want to advance in the Skillathon Contest.  Starting on February 2, we will be offering skillathon practices for senior age youth that have a desire to succeed in the Skillathon competition.  Victoria Crabtree and Savanna Everhart both youth who have competed at the National contest and placed in the top ten overall have agreed to work with any youth that have a desire to learn.  At the first workshop they will be setting the dates for the monthly practices up to the State Contest in July.  There is no cost associated with these events. All aspects of the Skillathon  contest will be covered, and guest speakers will attend some of the practices.  Please click below for more information.

What: *Nance Family Meat Goat Leadership Institute*
When: February 9, 2013
Where: NCSU Beef Educational Unit
Who:  Youth with an interest in the Meat Goat Industry.  Applicants need to be enrolled in High School grade 9-12 and age 14-19.  Click below for the application.

What: *NC Beef Ambassador Contest*
When: February 15, 2013 at 3:00
Where: Hickory Metro Center in conjunction with the NC Cattlemen’s Convention
Who:  Youth ages 13-20, that have sincere interest in the Beef Industry.  There will be a junior and senior division.  Click below for the informational sheet and entry form.
