A Brighter Tomorrow 4-H Club Visits Painted Valley Stables

Eight members of A Brighter Tomorrow 4-H club in Asheville recently had an opportunity to visit Painted Valley Stables for a club field trip to learn about horses.   While at the stables they learned about horse safety and aspects of horse care.  After the lesson, they headed to the barn to learn about how to groom a horse.  After getting the horses groomed, the 4-Hers each had a chance to take a guided ride on Rio, a horse owned by Kim Eggert- leader of the Horse Spirits 4-H club.  Everyone had a great time and learned a lot!  A second group of 4-Hers from A Brighter Tomorrow 4-H Club will be visiting the stables in October for another lesson about horses and horse care.

If your 4-H club is doing some exciting things and you’d like to share them, email your pictures and story to Holly at holly_jordan@ncsu.edu.
