4-H Group Tours the UGA Meat Science Center

Members of the Buncombe County 4-H Livestock Judging Team traveled to Athens, GA on Monday, June 4th to tour the University of Georgia Meat Science Technology Center and learn about meat processing.  Over 30 4-H members, parents, and guests learned about quality and yield grading of beef carcasses, toured the meat processing facility, and learned how a beef carcass is processed into sub-primal and retail cuts of meat.  We’d like to thank Ryan Crowe and Tyson Stickland for being our tour guides for the day and letting our 4-H group visit the facility.
