North Carolina 4-H Congress is an annual state event held at NC State University where 4-Hers from across the state come together to celebrate their accomplishments. State competition for presentations, scholarships, national 4-H award trips, and the state 4-H officer elections all take place during the week. Congress is typically the highlight of many 4-Hers’ experiences and a great way to meet new friends from the District and other parts of the state.
Registration packets are available from the Buncombe County Extension office. The dates for 4-H Congress this year are July 16-19, 2012. We will be staying in the Bragaw Hall dorms on NC State’s campus. For full-time participants (Monday-Thursday) registration and lodging will be $272. This year we will offer one part-time option. Youth can have the option of spending Monday night only for $150 (part-time participants are responsible for their own transportation).
Youth must be 13 years old as of January 1, 2012 in order to participate in Congress. If you are interested in attending the trip, please contact Holly Jordan at firstname.lastname@example.org or (828) 255-5522 ASAP to receive the Congress registration packet. Holly will be chaperoning the trip and transporting our Buncombe County delegation to Raleigh in the state van. Priority for registration and van transportation will be given to those youth who participate in County 4-H Presentation Day on June 5th.
All registrations and payment deposit for Congress are due to Holly no later than Thursday, June 28th. No late registrations will be accepted!
