Congratulations to our Buncombe County 4-H Robotics team members who participated in the WNC (FLL) FIRST Lego League Robotics tournament at UNCA on Saturday, November 19th.   The group placed first of 23 teams with their presentation of an innovative solution to a food safety issue and was one of seven groups advancing on to the state competition in Greensboro on January 21, 2012.

The team members included:
Eric Ender
Alex Harvey
Aaron Haynes
Phillip Hughes
Maia Judd
Aeron McConnell
Tavon Tinsley
Owen Wilson
Caleb Miles
Jabin Sprinkle

The team was coached by James Judd and Gerald Wilson who are volunteers with the Clever Clovers 4-H Club in East Asheville.  Mr. John Schnautz, a member of the Buncombe County Extension Advisory Committee and NC Extension Advisory Committee, was also instrumental in bringing this robotics opportunity to 4-H.  We’d like to wish the the best of luck as they continue their practice meetings to get prepared for the January state Championship tournament.
