Juanita Ogburn Hudson and Mack Hudson 4-H Courtyard and Gardens at Millstone 4-H Center

We invite you to join the NC 4-H History and Learning Center committee as we dedicate the Juanita Ogburn Hudson and Mack Hudson 4-H Courtyard and Gardens at Millstone 4-H Center in Ellerbe, North Carolina on Saturday, October 15, 2011.

Juanita and Mack Hudson are lifelong Extension volunteers. Juanita was an outstanding 4-H’er from Johnston County during the Second World War. She led her club to victory in the Feed A Fighter contest, raising enough food to keep dozens of fighting men supplied. For her efforts, Juanita was selected in 1944 to christen the USS Tyrrell, a ship built with scrap metal collected by North Carolina’s 4-H’ers. In her adult life Juanita was an active Home Demonstration volunteer and served as president of the state organization. A successful farmer and businessman, Mack Hudson served as a Harnett County commissioner.

Please join us as we celebrate these two individuals and the 4-H history they cherish.
