Members of the Asheville Highriders 4-H Club have been busy this Spring getting ready for the West District 4-H Horse Show and helping their community. Take a look at the pictures below of some of the fun things they’ve been involved with.
Sixteen 4-H members participated in a horsemanship clinic taught by Mr. Robbie Potter, 4-H Agent in Mitchell County. He focused on the techniques of horse handling, trailer loading, and how to move the horse’s body as needed. Even members who were riding attended and learned.
In addition to the clinic, five of the 4-H club members participated in the Riverlink cleanup in cooperation with the Buncombe County Rescue Squad. They met at Jean Webb Park and cleaned the river bank for 3 and a half hours!! If you look closely in the picture below, you will even see the horse that they found on the river bank.
