2011 West District Teen Retreat

Over the weekend of April 1st, 15 4-H members and 4 adult chaperones from Buncombe County traveled to Camp Bob at the Kanuga Conference Center in Henderson County for the 2011 West District Teen Retreat.

Teen Retreat is an event where 4-H members from the West District come together to hold the annual District Council Officer elections, participate in educational sessions, support the “Hungry to Help” statewide 4-H initiative, compete for the district spirit stick, and have fun.  Our Buncombe County 4-H members participated in a variety of educational sessions which focused on team building, Operation Military Kids, Environmental Education, electricity, state livestock projects, and more.   We also won the award for Best Table Decor which included our district chant (great job everyone).

We also want to congratulate Seth Austin, of the Newfound 4-H Club, for being elected as the new 2011-2012 West District Reporter.  We are very proud of Seth and know that he’ll do a great job representing the county and district at 4-H events.

Below are a few pictures of the weekend.  Make sure to join in on the fun next year!!
