The North Carolina 4-H Program is working in a historical exhibit for the DH Hill Archive Hall which is the capstone to the 4-H Centennial celebration. The exhibit will be installed in early January, 2011 and stay in place for six months. It tells the wonderful story of the relationship between NCSU and 4-H in service to the youth, families and communities of our state. It is a beautiful exhibit.
But we want to “make the best better.” And to do that we need your help to put the finishing touches on our exhibit. We have space available to feature NC 4-H artifacts/objects and we want to make sure we display the most unique items possible.
We need your help to find those items so they can be included. Please help by:
Contacting Dr. Thearon Mckinney by phone at 919-515-8472 with:
-Items you feel should be considered.
-Contact(Person I can email or phone to discuss items.)
-Contact Information(email address and telephone number)
When he receives your email or phone call he will work with the design group to select items for exhibit inclusion. Once an item is selected he will:
-Contact the item owner and complete an item registration form.
-Arrange to get the item to NCSU and into the exhibit.
-Arrange to return the item to its own when the exhibit closes.
What We Need:
We would like to find the following:
-Items and/or photos that are historically or program unique.
-Ribbons and awards: especially framed or carded collections.
-Objects related to Mulligan Stew the 1960’s tv program.
-Ellis’ Fancy Peanuts bags. We have some but need more.
-Project Books, Record Books, and Club Record Books
We’d love to find multi-generation project records.
-WWI and WWII 4-H Items
We’d like signs, pins, song sheets, photos.
-Health King and Queen Items
Crowns and Diaries
Booklets and records.
-4-H Uniforms and caps.
Thank you for helping our design team find the very best North Carolina 4-H items possible to include in our Centennial exhibit.
