Changes to 2010 State 4-H Council Conference

This Conference is open to ONLY the 2010 and 2011 newly elected Buncombe County 4-H County Council Officers.  If that is YOU, please read the information provided below.

Due to the anticipated low registration numbers for the State Council Conference which was announced in an earlier blog post, North Carolina 4-H will now be hosting regional Teen Leadership Focus Conferences.   These conferences, which include Ambassador, District, and Leadership workshops, will be one day events for 4-H’ers who are 13 years old and older.

Buncombe County will be attending the Teen Leadership Focus Conference on Saturday, November 20th at the Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center.  The cost to attend the one-day conference is $55.  Transportation will be provided with the state van.  We will finalize the travel arrangements as soon as we determine who and how many of us will be going to the conference.

In addition we are asking the each person (youth and adult) who attends a Teen Leadership Focus Conference to bring a can of food with him or her. This food will be donated to the local food bank and will help support North Carolina 4-H’s Hungry To Help initiative. Food will be collected at registration and each person who brings a can of food will be recognized!

If you are interested in attending, please contact Holly Jordan at holly_jordan@ncsu.edu so that registration information can be sent to you.  Registration and payment are due in the Buncombe 4-H Office NO LATER THAN 12:00 NOON FRIDAY, October 29th, 2010. We also need to make sure that we have an updated Media Release Form and Medical Release Form.
