Livestock Judging 101 Clinic: This event will be held May 22, at the NCSU Beef Educational Unit. It is open to youth interested in participating in livestock judging events. This event is designed for youth from beginners to experts. We will work with youth on evaluating pigs, sheep, meat goats, and cattle, in addition to helping them understand the procedure for giving oral reasons. For more information, click here.
North Carolina Junior Beef Roundup: Will be held June 5th & 6th. This event offers a heifer and steer show, along with showmanship competition for cattle. Additionally, there will be photo, poster, and skillathon contests for all youth. Kids do not have to be showing cattle to participate in the contests. For more information, click here.
North Carolina Beef Ambassador Contest: This event will be held June 4th, at Brickhaven on NCSU Campus. This event has two age divisions: Junior 13-16, and Senior 17-20. This event is sponsored by the North Carolina Cattle Women and the North Carolina Cattlemen’s Beef Council. This offers a great opportunity for youth to become advocates for the beef industry, and to help spread the positive message to consumers. For more information, click here.
North Carolina 4-H Livestock Judging, Skillathon, and Quiz Bowl Contests: These events will be held June 29th and 30th at the NCSU Beef Educational Unit. For more information, click here.
North Carolina Youth Beef Industry Tour: We would like to encourage North Carolina youth between the ages of 16 and 21 with an interest in learning more about the cattle industry in the state to apply for the First North Carolina Youth Beef Industry Tour. The tour is being made possible through funds collected from the North Carolina Cattle Industry Assessment to help further the advancement of the youth in the cattle business in the state.
