Achievement Night Skit and Talent Clip Information

1.  Opie’s Date to the Awards
2.  Skippy (One of the fun Girls-you need to be really out going and not afraid to be silly)
3.  Howard Sprague’s Mother
4.  Gomer Pyle
5.  Goober Pyle
6.  Floyd Lawson
7.  Otis Campbell
8.  Ernest T Bass
9.  Howard Sprague
**If you are unsure of which character best fits you, you can click here to read about each one.

We are asking that anyone who would like to participate in the skit please email (erin_bonito@ncsu.edu)  or call (828-255-5522) Erin BY 5:00PM WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25thTH, 2009 with your first choice and your second choice.  Roles will be cast on a first-come, first-serve basis.  On a very important note:  BY CHOOSING A ROLE, YOU ARE COMMITTING TO BEING A PART OF THIS PROJECT.  THIS WILL INCLUDE MEMORIZING LINES, ATTENDING SEVERAL PRACTICES (we will try our best to accommodate practice times when everyone is able to attend), BEING PRESENT THE DAY OF FILMING (Filming is currently scheduled for 9:00 am on January 16th, 2010), AND ATTENDING THE ACHEIVEMENT NIGHT CEREMONY. Please note that filming will take place in Newfound.  We will try to keep travel down as much as we can but there may need to be 2-3 trips made out there to finish.   Our next practice for the skit is scheduled for Tuesday December 15th, 2009 at 6:30 pm at the Sandy Mush Substation (Fire Department).  Directions to the Sandy Mush Substation are at the bottom of this posting.  Please be sure that you are able to attend this meeting BEFORE signing up for a part in the skit.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COMMIT TO THESE TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A ROLE. A filmed skit like this does take time and work and we expect that everyone who signs up demonstrate a commitment to this project and respect for those who are contributing time and effort toward it.

TALENT CLIPS:
It was also decided by the County Council that we will videotape (10) TEN, 60-second talent clips beforehand that will be aired at Achievement Night.  In order to participate in one of the talent clips you will need to adhere to the following guidelines:

1.  The Talent Clip can be an individual person or multi-person act.
2.  The Talent Clip can be dance, dramatic, variety, instrumental, vocal, or even just  you describing something fun you did in 4-H this year.
3.  The Talent Clip can last no more than 60 seconds (one minute).
4.  You must be available January 16th to have your Talent Clip taped, and you also must be present at Achievement Night.

All 4-H’ers interested in performing a Talent Clip to be shown at Achievement Night need to sign up BY 5:00PM WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH, 2009. However, Talent Clips will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, so the sooner you sign up, the better chance you will have at being accepted.  In order to sign up, please email (erin_bonito@ncsu.edu) or call (828-255-5522) Erin with your name, your 4-H Club name, your skit name, and the type of skit you will be performing (dance, dramatic, variety, instrumental or vocal).

Just to recap the information above, sign-ups for the Skit and Talent Clip are on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be turned into Erin no later than 5:00pm Wednesday, November 25th, 2009.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let Erin know.   We look forward to hearing from you.
