Newfound 4-H Club Participates in Hearts With Hands Service Project!

In the Fall of 2009, 25 parents and club members from Newfund 4-H Club met at both the Wal-Mart of Weaverville and the Sam’s Club on Patton Avenue.  In partnership with Hearts With Hands, Newfound 4-H members spent two days v collecting food to help meet a goal of 60,000 pounds of non-perishable food products and financial donations to purchase food for the Bakpak Program.

Food collected will benefit the 500 plus families needing local assistance as well as provide food for the Bakpak Bunch Program.  The Bakpak Bunch Program is currently serving over 1000 children weekly in area counties who have no food during weekends and school holidays. A job well done, Newfound 4-H!
