4-H Council Meets May 14th

Our next Buncombe County 4-H County Council Meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening, May 14th at 6:30 pm in the Extension Conference Room, 94 Coxe Avenue, Asheville, NC.  This is a very important meeting because we’ll be introducing our new Buncombe County Extension Director, Mr. Steve Duckett, at that time.  (Many of you already know Steve from when he was the livestock/forage crops Extension agent prior to being the Rutherford County Extension Director.)  Steve is originally from Sandy Mush and was the first president of the Sandy Mush 4-H Club 30 years ago, so he has plenty of experience with 4-H and will be a strong supporter for our program.

We will also be discussing  plans for presentation competition, the gardening program, camping, District Activity Day, our gardening project and the upcoming garden planting at the Swannanoa 4-H Camp.  In addition, we’ll be reporting on our recent 4-H activities and competitions, as well as on our  plant/bulb sale and we’ll present the high-selling 4-H’er with a Clover Cash certificate.

You won’t want to miss this meeting!  Please make sure that at least one representative from your club attends.
