Just a quick reminder of the Swannanoa 4-H Camp Gardening Project Kick-off on Saturday morning, March 21, from 9 am until noon at the Swannanoa 4-H Camp, 170 Woodland Drive, Swannanoa. Wear your old clothes (layers, since it’ll may be cool in the morning, but warm up by noon), bring your gardening gloves if you’ve got them, and come ready to plant seeds in trays to get them started for transplanting in the camp garden in May. The vegetables we’ll be planting will help provide part of the produce for the camp this summer, and campers will maintain the garden that our 4-H’ers plant. The flower seeds we’ll be planting will also be used for decorations at special events at the camp.
In addition to the seeds we’ll be planting, we’ll also be potting tree seedlings that will be distributed in May for transplant across the county as part of our North Carolina 4-H Centennial Project.
So come join the fun and get your hands dirty learning more about gardening! If you have questions, give Mary a call at 255.5522.
