Two Buncombe 4-H Volunteers Attend Leaders’ Conference

Carrie Austin and Connie Worley, two to the club leaders of the Newfound    4-H Club, participated in the recent North Carolina 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Conference at Research Triangle Park, February 6-8.  Accompanied by 4-H Agent Mary McGlauflin, the leaders participated in a series of workshops designed to enhance their abilities to help lead not only their club, but our county 4-H program.  The theme for this year’s event was “Pearls of Wisdom, Diamond Dreams” which reflected both the history and envisioned future for 4-H in this state.

This was a great opportunity for these new leaders to gain a broader perspective on our state’s 4-H program and network with other leaders from our district and across our state who are involved in projects and activities that our 4-H’ers may wish to learn more about.    We look forward to having them share some of what they have learned with other leaders in our county throughout the year.
